SELECTS: Nourine AbouSeada Styles the Many Faces of Herself
Nourine Abou Saeda embodies her moods, styling herself from casual ease to bold confidence and always in motion.
There’s the Nourine Abouseada people have come to recognise; the voice behind “Ba2olak Eh,” first released in 2021, the Sorbonne-educated artist who returned to Cairo and stepped, almost seamlessly, into its pop landscape. But that version only tells part of the story.
“Ba2olak Eh” wasn’t initially a breakout single. Three years after its release, the track began circulating on TikTok in 2024, where a specific fragment of the song moved across videos and built its own momentum. What followed was less a launch than a delayed recognition, as the track travelled from user-generated clips into wider listening, eventually appearing across streaming charts in Egypt.
The conditions of its making are just as minimal as its sound. Nourine has spoken about writing the lyrics herself and filming the video independently, using a phone and a small circle of friends.
Her catalogue extends beyond that moment. Releases like “Mesh Fakrak,” “Paris,” “Rozma,” and “Ehsasi Galak?” map a timeline that runs parallel to the song’s second life online, while collaborations such as “7ob Khena2” with Marwan Moussa place her within a broader network of contemporary Egyptian music.
Nourine is harder to fix in place than any single role suggests. She records, writes, and performs, while also moving through modelling, screen work, and digital platforms in parallel; a presence that doesn’t settle into one format for long. So instead of asking her to define herself, we asked her to do something more instinctive; to style the different versions of herself. The ones that surface depending on the day, the feeling, the music playing in the background as she gets dressed.
There is, of course, the style she presents to pop culture at large; bright, hyper-feminine, and somewhat chaotic. Then there is its counterpoint; dark, edgier, and more streamlined, where simplicity is embraced to an almost contradictory degree. In between, we find the style she likely relates to most instinctual, somewhat undone, assembled quickly and left untouched.
“I’ve never really believed in following trends,” she tells SceneStyled. “I dress according to comfort and freedom, almost like an island girl mentality. I like clothes that let me move, breathe, and feel at ease. If something is trending but doesn’t feel natural on me, I simply won’t wear it.”
