How Samm Khaled Is Dressing Egypt’s New Music Wave
Samm Khaled is dressing Shehab in a plaid kilt and Fares Sokar in pink camouflage cargo pants. His sophisticated streetwear is taking over the music scene.

Egyptian designer and stylist Samm Khaled is the mind behind some of the most striking looks in music videos going viral across the Middle East—and beyond. Just last month, he pulled together five outfits in three days for Saint Levant and Fares Sokar’s “DO YOU LOVE ME? / سنيورة”—a video that has since racked up nearly five million views on YouTube. In a short span, Samm has built a name for himself, working with musicians like Lella Fadda, Lege-cy, Wegz, Marwan Moussa, Shehab, Ziad Zaza, and Janna Diab. In the past year alone, he has styled close to 50 music videos.
The 27-year-old began as a theatre performer before moving into modelling, and by 2021—just as Covid restrictions began to ease—he set his sights on styling, a career that has been on a sharp rise ever since.
When he speaks, Samm leans forward with a smile. His look echoes the sophisticated streetwear aesthetic he’s become known for: classic silhouettes layered with flashes of silver. On this occasion, he was dressed in all black—a Comme des Garçons T-shirt, loose Gap jeans, and Balenciaga Trooper Derby shoes, with a heart-shaped key clip dangling from his Levi’s belt loop. His hands stood out just as much: metal ropes coiled around his wrist and chunky rings stacked across his fingers.
For this week’s Scene Styled Selects, Samm pulled together a few of his favourite works: Fares Sokar in “DO YOU LOVE ME? / سنيورة”; Shehab in “KKKK”; Lella Fadda for Spotify and the “TARAT TARAT TARAT” video; and a Wingii look created in collaboration with fashion house Misfit. Across his sets, Samm reaches for plaids, bulky jewellery, and sculptural corsets—at one point even dressing Shehab in a kilt.
