Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre Heads to COSPAR 2026 in Italy
The centre will showcase the UAE's space missions while promoting Dubai as host of COSPAR 2028.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) is participating in the 46th Scientific Assembly of the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR 2026), taking place in Florence, Italy, from August 1st to 9th.
The event brings together scientists, researchers, engineers, space agencies, academic institutions and industry leaders to discuss developments in space science, planetary exploration, Earth observation, climate studies and space weather.
During the assembly, MBRSC will showcase milestones from the UAE's space programme, including artefacts that travelled to space during the Zayed Ambition 1 and Zayed Ambition 2 missions as part of the UAE Astronaut Programme. The centre will also present the scientific foundations of the Emirates Lunar Mission, progress on Rashid Rover 2, and the achievements of the Emirates Mars Mission 'Hope Probe'. Its delegation will also participate in technical sessions throughout the conference.
The event will also serve as a platform for MBRSC to introduce Dubai as the host city for COSPAR 2028, which will mark the first time the Scientific Assembly is held in the Arab world. The centre's exhibition space will feature a Dubai Scent Wall, a Dubai Immersive Experience and a Cultural F&B Experience to promote the city to international delegates.
According to MBRSC, COSPAR 2028 is expected to attract more than 3,000 researchers, scientists and space experts from around the world.
