We are back with a new edition of our bi-weekly playlist ‘Shuffle’, where we highlight standout new releases that came out from the Middle East and North African region and its diaspora over the past couple weeks, encompassing diverse genres and musical styles.

Amr Diab’s daughter Jana Diab links up with a London-based filmmaker on an soulful indie-rock tune, ‘The Captain & The Crow’, while Italian-Lebanese singer and songwriter Ilaria unveiled ‘What Do You Afraid Of?’, a visual project combining four tracks into one, a crescendo that moves from quiet and meditative nostalgia to unapologetic confrontation to depict her feelings of doubt and self-consciousness.

The playlist also features Egyptian electronic producer and live act Chiati with another double release on Swiss electronic dance label Hive titled ‘Heroine/The Fire’, Nour Khan and Ahmed Kore with ‘Fel Aflam’, and Lebanese-Egyptian singer Zeina with a flirtatious R&B jam ‘So What’. Our selections also feature Kuwaiti rock rousers Galaxy Juice with ‘Only Time’, Alkadire with ‘Love Tenet’, Yazeed Fahad with ‘Habibty Enti’ and Bayou with ‘Wesh El Bahr’.
