Egyptian Artist Nour Featured on COLORS with ‘Nesety Nafsek’
With this performance, Nour joins a list of some of the region's biggest names, who stepped into COLORS' stripped-back space, including ElGrandeToto, Lella Fadda and Zeyne.
Egyptian singer-songwriter Nour makes her debut on the globally-renowned music series COLORS with an intimate performance of ‘Nesety Nafsek’, a soft pop ballad for the misfits.
Since its inception in 2016, COLORS has quickly skyrocketed to cult status, crafting a distinctive, minimalist visual aesthetic that puts artistry centre-stage with no gimmicks. The platform has been actively spotlighting the most distinctive emerging artists and original sounds, and propelling them into international recognition.
The track reads like an internal monologue, with poignant lyricism and Nour’s hushed vocals reflecting on the feeling of alienation that comes with not fitting into the molds imposed by family and society, and the constant search for validation. Produced by British indie rock artist Tom Caro and Nour’s longtime collaborator Hadi Birajakli, the track blends contemporary pop sensibilities with cinematic instrumentations, such as a sweeping violin solo by Rouane Gawiche, building an atmosphere that mirrors the song’s introspective core.
With this performance, Nour joins the growing roster of regional talents that have graced COLORS’ signature stripped-back stage, including Zeyne, ElGrandeToto, Nadah El Shazly, Lella Fadda, Bu Kolthoum, MANAL, and Flippter.
