Tunis' Balaclava to Host 4th Anniversary Party September 19th

Tunisian electronic collective Balaclava is celebrating its fourth anniversary this September 19th, with a special party uniting veteran and up and coming artists from across the MENA region scenes.

Founded as a space for bass, jungle, grime and club music that sat outside Tunisia’s mainstream nightlife, Balaclava has spent the past four years carving out a home for left-field sounds. Rather than leaning on imported European lineups or familiar commercial formats, the collective has championed emerging artists from across the region, helping foster connections between scenes in North Africa and beyond. Its ‘DEFEND TUNIS’ series, alongside collaborations with platforms including Keep Hush and Yalla Worldwide, has helped establish Balaclava as a distinct force within Tunisia’s underground circuit.

For its fourth anniversary, the collective is bringing that regional outlook to Tunis on September 19, with a lineup spanning experimental electronics, bass, rap and hip-hop. The bill connects artists from Tunisia, Lebanon, Morocco and the wider Arab diaspora, including Casablanca rapper ISSAM and producer 3xoj, alongside Lebanese DJs Willillah and Umma, representing Beirut-based High Hats Community. The local contingent features ITS X, FIN and SH on the mic, with Tunisian selectors The Bakk and J-FUNKART rounding out the night.

The party takes place at Hello Mademoiselle club in Gammarth. Tickets are available via the link in Balaclava’s Instagram bio.
