China’s President Xi Jinping Tours The Grand Egyptian Museum

China’s President Xi Jinping visited the Grand Egyptian Museum earlier today alongside Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, as part of his two-day visit to Egypt, his first visit to the country in a decade.

Egypt’s First Lady Entissar El Sisi and China’s First Lady Peng Liyuan also joined them on the tour.

The visit comes as Egypt and China mark 70 years of diplomatic relations, with both sides seeking to deepen economic, political and strategic cooperation.

Later in the day, El-Sisi reportedly bid farewell to his Chinese counterpart at Cairo International Airport, marking the end of his trip.
