Syria Named Guest of Honour at Riyadh International Book Fair 2026
Registration is now open for local and international publishers, with Syria set to participate as guest of honour.
The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission has set the Riyadh International Book Fair 2026 for December 10th to 19th and opened registration for local and international publishers.
Organised under the Ministry of Culture, the fair brings together publishers, writers, academics and professionals from the literature, publishing and translation sectors.
The programme will include panel discussions, workshops and lectures alongside publisher showcases featuring new literary and intellectual releases.
Syria has been named guest of honour for the 2026 edition. Culture Minister Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan said in February that the selection reflected Saudi-Syrian cultural ties and would support further cultural exchange.
The fair will also continue its Saudi Author Corner, giving Saudi writers who hold publishing and distribution rights to their work a space to present and sell books directly to readers.
A dedicated Children’s Pavilion will feature literature for children and young adults, alongside interactive activities and creative workshops focused on reading and imagination.
