Saudi Space Agency Launches ‘Abaad’ Astrophotography Platform

The Saudi Space Agency has launched ‘Abaad’, an interactive platform dedicated to astrophotography, aimed at expanding Arabic-language content and supporting regional talent in the field.

The platform brings together both enthusiasts and professionals through three participation tracks: deep space, the solar system and Saudi Space.

The Saudi Space track encourages participants to capture celestial scenes alongside landmarks and cultural settings across the Kingdom.

Designed as both a submission portal and showcase, Abaad provides users with guidelines and examples for each track, serving as the central interface for uploading and viewing astrophotography work.

The initiative also seeks to build a visual archive of astrophotography content in Arabic, contributing to the documentation and visibility of space-related imagery produced in the region.

The platform is accessible through the agency’s official website, forming part of broader efforts to structure participation in astrophotography and expand Arabic digital content in the field.
