Mobile Clinics Deliver 8.4 Million Free Medical Services in One Year

Egypt's mobile medical clinics delivered more than 8.4 million free medical and treatment services to around 3.4 million people between July 1st, 2025, and June 30th, 2026, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

During the year, 4,790 medical convoys operated across all governorates, serving an average of around 715 people per convoy. The programme provided medical consultations, free medication, health education and approximately 1.17 million laboratory tests and diagnostic examinations. Patients requiring surgery were referred to ministry-affiliated hospitals, where treatment was provided at the state's expense.

According to the ministry, medical examinations accounted for 40.57% of all services delivered, followed by free medication at 35.33%, laboratory tests at 13.85%, and health education at 8.86%.

Assistant Minister for Curative Care Peter Wagih said the programme prioritised border governorates and communities with the greatest healthcare needs. Matrouh recorded the highest number of medical convoys, with 549, followed by Alexandria with 289 and Beheira with 228.

Sharqia recorded the largest number of medical services delivered, at around 674,000, while also serving the highest number of beneficiaries, with approximately 311,000 people. It was followed by Assiut, Aswan, Monufeya and Minya.

The ministry added that the medical supply fulfilment rate increased to 42.2%, while the proportion of stagnant inventory fell to 0.28%. Border governorates also received EGP 12.5 million worth of strategic medical supplies from the Helwan warehouse complex, and the mobile clinics were equipped with digital imaging devices, dental equipment and patient monitors.
