Egypt Ranks 10th Worldwide for Chocolate Exports
Chocolate and cocoa-based food exports reached USD 251 million in 2025, with Saudi Arabia accounting for around 35% of the total.
Egypt ranked 10th worldwide for exports of chocolate and other food preparations containing cocoa in 2025, with exports valued at USD 251 million, according to Food Export Council data.
Export volumes reached around 33,000 tonnes, giving Egypt an estimated 3% share of global exports in the category. The 2025 value represented a 64% increase from the previous year.
Saudi Arabia was the largest destination, receiving USD 87 million in exports, or around 35% of the total. The UAE followed with USD 37 million, ahead of Kuwait at USD 18 million, the UK at USD 15 million and Qatar at USD 12 million.
Together, those five markets accounted for approximately USD 169 million, or 67.3% of Egypt’s chocolate and cocoa-based food exports in 2025.
Growth accelerated further in 2026. Exports reached USD 216.65 million in the first half of the year, up 139% compared with the same period in 2025, according to CAPMAS.
June alone generated USD 37.34 million in export revenues, representing a 170.6% year-on-year increase.
Between 2020 and 2025, export value grew at a compound annual rate of 38%, while volumes increased at an annual rate of 17%.
