Dust Storms & High Waves Forecast Along Saudi Arabia's West Coast
Strong winds are expected to stir dust and sand across parts of Makkah, Madinah, Asir and Jazan through August 15th.
Dust-raising winds and high waves are expected to affect large parts of Saudi Arabia's western coast from August 11th to August 15th, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM).
The weather system is forecast to impact coastal areas across the Makkah, Madinah, Asir and Jazan regions, where active surface winds are expected to stir dust and sand while generating rough sea conditions along the coastline.
The NCM said the strongest impacts are likely to be felt along highways in the affected regions, where blowing dust and sand could reduce visibility for motorists. Offshore, high waves are forecast along the same coastal stretches throughout the advisory period.
The authority has urged residents and visitors to follow the latest forecasts, reports and warnings through its official website and communication channels. It has also published a weather map identifying the areas expected to be affected over the coming days.
