Dubai Bus on Demand Expands to 20 Service Areas

Dubai's Bus on Demand service now operates across 20 neighbourhoods, with Al Quoz, Mirdif and Al Satwa joining the network as the latest areas to receive coverage.

According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the service has carried more than half a million passengers over the past six months. To mark the expansion, unlimited rides in Mirdif will be offered free of charge from August 10th to August 23rd, after which standard fares will apply.

The service allows passengers to book point-to-point journeys through the Bus On Demand app using minibuses with capacity for up to 13 passengers. Vehicles operate without fixed stops within designated service zones. Standard fares are AED 5 per trip within a zone, with each additional passenger on the same booking charged AED 4. Interzone journeys cost AED 7, while trips within Business Bay are priced at AED 2.

The network now serves Al Barsha 1, 2 and 3, Al Karama, Al Mankhool, Al Nahda, Al Qusais, Al Quoz, Al Rigga, Al Satwa, Al Warqa'a, Barsha Heights, Business Bay, Dubai International Financial Centre, Dubai Academic City, Downtown Dubai, Dubai Investment Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Jumeirah Village Circle, Mirdif, Oud Metha and Port Saeed.

Operating hours run from 5 AM to midnight from Monday to Thursday and on Saturday, 5 AM to 1 AM on Friday, and 8 AM to midnight on Sunday. The RTA also operates six interzone routes connecting selected districts, including Business Bay with Downtown Dubai and Dubai Silicon Oasis with Dubai Academic City, completing the rollout of the service across its 20 designated areas.
