Dubai Adds Four Bus Routes in Public Transport Overhaul

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the government body responsible for the emirate's transport network, will introduce four new public bus routes and modify 13 existing services from July 17th as part of a wider overhaul of the city's bus network.

According to the RTA, the changes are based on regular reviews of passenger demand and travel patterns, with the aim of strengthening connections between residential communities, business districts and major transport hubs while improving integration with the Dubai Metro and Metro Link services.

The new routes will primarily serve International City, Dubai Silicon Oasis and Dubai Internet City. Route 35 will connect International City and Dubai Silicon Oasis every 30 minutes during peak hours, while Route 85 will provide a direct link between Al Quoz (Al Khail Gate) and Dubai Internet City Metro Station with 20-minute peak frequencies. Two additional services, Routes 37A and 37B, will operate between International City and Dubai Silicon Oasis Lake in both directions.

The network update also includes changes to several existing services. Route 27 will be rerouted via Al Mustaqbal Street, while Routes 36A and 36B will no longer serve Dubai Silicon Oasis, with passengers redirected to the new Routes 37A and 37B. Route 67 will terminate at Oud Metha Bus Station instead of Al Ghubaiba, Route 84 will end at InsuranceMarket Bus Stop, and Route 88 will terminate at the ONPASSIVE Metro Bus Stop, with alternative services available for affected passengers.

Several Metro Link routes will also be expanded. Route F06 will be extended to Nad Shaba, F36 will serve Al Barsha South 2, F29 will be adjusted to serve Umm Al Sheif, and F47 will be extended to staff accommodation in Jebel Ali Industrial Area. Additional operational changes to Routes 96, X94, C01 and X22 are intended to reduce journey times and improve connectivity across the network.
