Carthage Music Days Festival Celebrates 11th Edition Oct 3 - 10

From October 3rd to 10th, Carthage Music Days (Journées Musicales de Carthage) returns for its 11th edition, bringing a week of discussions, performances and industry exchange to Tunisia. Led by musician and artistic director Mondher Fellah, the festival brings together diverse voices and musical practices from Tunisia, the wider region and beyond, while creating space to examine where music is headed next.

This year’s edition brings together participants from 15 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Chad, Belgium, Palestine, Senegal, Morocco, Brazil, Algeria, Jordan, Syria and Tunisia. Alongside its performance programme, the festival positions itself as a professional hub connecting emerging musicians and artists with industry figures from around the world. The aim is to give young talent a platform to present their projects, build relationships and connect with producers and major festivals in Tunisia and internationally.

During the day, a series of panels will unpack some of the questions currently shaping the music industry. Topics include the impact of artificial intelligence on music, an artist’s journey from initial idea to the stage, and the place of emerging artists within festival programming. Other discussions will explore film scoring, stage direction in music production, interactive technology and the transformation of everyday objects into musical instruments.

As the night falls, the focus shifts from conversation to performance, with a programme spanning different scenes and musical approaches. The line-up includes Syrian singer-songwriter Faia Younan, Tunisian rock band Jadal, Malika Awaj, Yousra El Hawary, ANNA TRÉA, SAHAD, Midnight Pin and Nuri.

By bringing artists and industry professionals into the same space, the festival seeks to create new pathways for emerging talent to reach audiences and platforms across Tunisia, the region and beyond.

With panels during the day and live performances at night, Cité de la Culture Chedly Klibi becomes a space for discussion, discovery and listening throughout the week. The programme celebrates the many forms music can take, as well as the changing ways it is created, presented and shared, while also extending beyond the venue with free performances along Tunis’ Habib Bourguiba Avenue.
