2027 Designated as Saudi Arabia's Year of Water
The initiative aims to promote water conservation and resource management in line with Vision 2030.
2027 has been designated as Saudi Arabia's Year of Water, following a decision by the Kingdom's Cabinet to promote water conservation, sustainable resource management and public awareness as part of Vision 2030.
The decision was announced after a Cabinet session in Jeddah chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. While authorities have yet to outline specific programmes linked to the initiative, it is intended to encourage responsible water use and strengthen long-term management of the Kingdom's water resources.
The designation forms part of Saudi Arabia's broader sustainability agenda under Vision 2030, with the initiative expected to increase public engagement with water-related issues and reinforce conservation practices across the country.
