Soul Kitchen Hosts a Rotating Iftar Supper Club With Four Guest Chefs

Soul Kitchen, the Conde Nast-lauded gem in Dubai’s dining crown, is forgoing the standard buffet parade this Ramadan. Instead, its executive chef, the Venezuelan-born Margarita Vaamonde, is hosting a series of Iftar Supper Collaborations. Spanning four Saturdays with four distinct culinary voices, each sharing the pass with Vaamonde for an evening.
The series begins with iftar on February 19th with Ahmad Halawa, the champion of Palestinian cuisine whose supper clubs have become whispered-about events for their emotional resonance. His is food as archaeology, unearthing layers of personal and collective memory. The following week, on February 28th, an iftar will be served in the contemporary flavours of Peru with Andree Nuñez, Chef de Cuisine of La Mar at Atlantis The Royal, who brings a decade of precision from the kitchens of Gastón Acurio and El Celler de Can Roca. March rolls in with Sara Aqel serving a suhoor on March 7th, the Palestinian-Jordanian force behind Amman’s ‘Dara Dining’, recently anointed by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Her philosophy—rooted in hyper-seasonal, locally-sourced Levantine produce—promises a grounded, garden-fresh counterpoint. The final collaboration on March 14th hands the reins of breaking fast with the vibrant chaos of Tacos Los Hermanos, the Neighbourhood Food Hall favourite renowned for its soulful, slow-cooked birria and handmade tortillas.
At the centre of this culinary waltz is Margarita Vaamonde herself, whose own journey from Michelin-starred brigades to celebrity chef collaborations informs Soul Kitchen’s unique ‘Arab diaspora to South America’ concept. This series, however, lets her step back into the role of curator and collaborator, creating a dynamic where her Latinate foundations converse with a roster of guest chefs. With limited spots available, these evenings are designed as a series of intimate, ephemeral dinners where the menu is a dialogue of new story being told.
