Rowing the Nile Challenges Raises Awareness With Cross-Country Voyage
Led by rowing champions Hatem Kandeel and Ibrahim Ayoob, the initiative is set to pass through upper Egypt to Damietta.

In an effort to increase public awareness of various environmental and socioeconomic issues, Egypt's National Council for Women (NCW) announced the second edition of their ‘Rowing the Nile Challenge’.
Led by rowing champions Hatem Kandeel and Ibrahim Ayoob, the initiative is set to pass through upper Egypt, from Aswan to Ras El-Bar in Damietta, passing thorough Luxor, Qena, Sohag, Assiut, Minya, Beni Suef, Cairo, and Qalyubia in the process.
The initiative is in line with the National Family Development Programme, which actively works to improve the financial inclusion of Egyptian women, with a focus on social empowerment and raising awareness for socioeconomic and environmental challenges faced by these governorates and similar rural areas.
