UAE Named Safest Country in the World in 2025
Abu Dhabi, Ajman, and Dubai lead the world's safest cities index according to the Safety Index by Numbeo, with record-low crime rates and high safety scores.

The UAE has been ranked the safest country in the world in 2025, according to the mid-year Safety Index by Numbeo, with a national safety score of 85.2.
Out of 148 countries, the UAE recorded the lowest crime index at just 14.8, placing it at the bottom of the global crime ranking and reaffirming its position at the top of the safety list.
Abu Dhabi emerged as the world’s safest city with a safety score of 88.8, followed by Ajman (85.5), Dubai (83.9), Ras Al Khaimah (83.8), and Sharjah (83.7). These five cities represent the top urban centres in the UAE and are now among the six safest globally, with only Doha, Qatar (84.3), entering the top tier from outside the Emirates.
The broader Gulf region also showed strong results. Qatar and Oman ranked second and sixth respectively, while Saudi Arabia and Kuwait also placed in the top 40. At the opposite end, Haiti, Papua New Guinea, and Venezuela recorded the highest crime rates and lowest safety scores.
Numbeo’s safety and crime indices draw on global user-submitted data and comparative metrics like perceived security during day and night, concerns over theft, assault, and law enforcement. The index is updated biannually and has positioned UAE cities among the safest since 2017.
