UAE Bans Drones & Glider Flights for One Week

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced an immediate suspension of flight permits for gliders, drones, and all types of recreational aircraft, effective from today and lasting one week.

The move comes in light of current safety concerns and aims to protect the country’s airspace. During this period, operating or flying these aircraft within UAE airspace is strictly prohibited.

The GCAA said it will assess the situation before the end of the suspension period and decide whether to resume flights or extend the ban as necessary. Authorities stressed that compliance is mandatory, and any violations will face legal action under UAE law.
