Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the opening of two major bridges as part of an effort to reduce traffic congestion at the Garn Al Sabkha-Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road junction, just south of Dubai Marina. The RTA stated that both bridges have a combined capacity of 3,200 vehicles per hour.
A third bridge, spanning nearly a kilometre and with a capacity of 8,000 vehicles per hour, is set to open next month, connecting Garn Al Sabkha Street to Al Asayel Street.
Additional project improvements include upgrades to street lighting, traffic signals, storm drain networks, and irrigation systems.
