Test for Egypt’s First Luxury High Speed Train to Run on November 9th

Egypt’s first luxury high-speed train is set to be showcased upon its arrival in the country, with its inaugural test run scheduled for November 9th. The trial will operate from the main workshop in Hadayek October to October Station, according to Kamel El Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport. The test coincides with the opening of the Industry and Transport Exhibition and Conference for the Middle East and Africa. The high-speed rail project forms part of Egypt’s broader vision to provide safe, fast, and sustainable electric transport that reduces carbon emissions and aligns with global developments in smart mobility. El Wazir referenced the successful introduction of Spanish Talgo trains on the national network, noting positive passenger feedback, and added that the new service would feature more advanced and luxurious specifications. El Wazir made the announcement during a press conference for the exhibition, held under the slogan “Together to Achieve Sustainable Development.” The event is organised by the Ministries of Transport and Industry under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, with participation from more than 500 local and international companies.
