The General Directorate of Passports, part of the Ministry of Interior, has introduced a commemorative passport stamp for the 10th edition of the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival. The stamp is available for arriving travellers at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and at land ports in the Eastern Province, coinciding with the festival’s run until January 3rd.
The festival is being held in Al-Sayahid, north of the Riyadh Region, in cooperation with the Camel Club. The initiative is intended to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s cultural identity, spotlighting the camel’s status as a core symbol of national heritage. It also forms part of the Ministry of Interior’s wider efforts to document major national events and present them to visitors arriving in the Kingdom.
The Saudi Post, in collaboration with the General Entertainment Authority, also issued a series of commemorative postage stamps in September to mark the Kingdom’s 95th Saudi National Day under the slogan “Our Pride Is in Our Nature.”
The stamps were valued at SAR 3, with a postcard valued at SAR 5. Saudi Arabia’s first commemorative postage stamp was issued in the early 1930s to mark the appointment of Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as crown prince. Current Saudi postage stamps incorporate security features designed to prevent counterfeiting and protect intellectual property rights.
