Saudi Transport & Logistics Sector Attracts USD 75 Billion

Saudi Arabia’s transport and logistics sector has secured investment agreements totalling USD 74.7 billion (SAR 280 billion), Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser announced at the 2026 Budget Forum. The funding reflects continued private-sector engagement in aviation, freight, warehousing and rail expansion.

Employment in the sector rose 28% this year, with 144,000 new jobs bringing the total workforce to nearly 651,000. Air-freight capacity recorded one of the sharpest increases, handling 1.2 million tonnes — up 34% year-on-year.

Infrastructure development remains a priority. Ten additional passenger trains are being procured for the Eastern Railway line, while the number of licensed logistics centres has reached 24 nationwide. Officials say transport and storage contributed 6.2% to GDP this year.
