Saudi Arabia to Require National Address for All Parcel Deliveries
Couriers must refuse shipments without a national address as enforcement begins in January, the Transport General Authority said.
Saudi Arabia will begin enforcing a requirement for all parcel deliveries to include a registered national address from the beginning of January, with delivery companies instructed to refuse shipments that do not meet the new criteria.
The Transport General Authority said individuals and businesses have around 15 days remaining to ensure their national address details are registered before enforcement takes effect. Once implemented, courier firms will be required to reject any parcels that do not include a valid national address.
According to the Authority, the measure supports the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and is intended to improve location accuracy, enhance logistics efficiency, support the growth of e-commerce, and strengthen the delivery of government services across the Kingdom.
Residents and businesses can obtain or verify their national address through official platforms including the National Address system, Absher, Tawakkalna, Sehhaty and SPL. The Authority urged users to complete registration ahead of the deadline to avoid disruption to parcel deliveries.
The requirement applies nationwide and is aimed at standardising address data used by delivery companies and government entities, forming part of wider efforts to modernise Saudi Arabia’s logistics infrastructure and improve service reliability.
