Zawya Shorts Festival Returns From March 4th to 15th

Downtown Cairo’s arthouse hub, Zawya Cinema, is marking a milestone moment as the 10th edition of the Zawya Shorts Festival takes over screens from March 4th to March 15th.

Launched to spotlight emerging Egyptian filmmakers, the annual festival has grown into one of the country’s most reliable platforms for short-form cinema. Each edition gathers a curated lineup of fiction, documentary and animated films, offering new directors the rare chance to see their work on the big screen, and in front of an audience actively looking for something different.

This year’s programme brings together 28 films competing across genres, continuing the festival’s decade-long mission of giving early-career filmmakers a theatrical launch.
