Saudi Arabia Wins 18 Awards at World Hospital Congress in Geneva

Saudi Arabia secured 18 awards at the 48th World Hospital Congress in Geneva, spanning institutional performance and scientific research across multiple healthcare disciplines.

Thirteen awards were presented in the Hospital Development track. King Khaled Hospital in Al-Kharj, part of the Riyadh First Health Cluster, received the Gold Award of the Dr Kwang Tae Kim Grand Prize, described as the highest recognition at the congress.

Al-Kharj Maternity and Children’s Hospital earned the Silver Award from the American Hospital Association for Workforce Wellness. King Salman Hospital in Riyadh was awarded Silver in the Mastercard Operational Excellence category. The Jubail Health Network within the Eastern Health Cluster received the Bronze Award for Environmental and Social Responsibility.

In the Scientific Research track, five Saudi researchers were honoured for work covering digital health, artificial intelligence, clinical models and sustainability. Among those recognised were Dr Muaddi Al-Harbi, Consultant for Scientific Research at the office of the Deputy Minister for Healthcare Services, for research in digital health and AI; Dr Hatem Abdullah and Muslim Sadran for clinical model innovations; and Dr Hadi Al-Sulaim for sustainability-focused research.

The awarded categories included Workforce Wellness, Operational Excellence and Environmental and Social Responsibility on the institutional side, alongside scientific fields in digital health, AI, clinical models and sustainability.
