Saudi Arabia has officially declared that Eid Al Adha 2025 will be celebrated on Friday, June 6th. The announcement follows the sighting of the Dhu Al Hijjah crescent moon on Tuesday evening, setting Wednesday, May 28th, as the first day of the Islamic lunar month.
Known as the Feast of Sacrifice, Eid Al Adha honours the story of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith, and is marked by communal prayers, festive meals, and acts of giving.
The Day of Arafat will fall on Thursday, June 5th.
With the countdown officially on, those following Saudi Arabia’s moon sighting, Egypt included, can begin prepping for the long weekend ahead.
