Saudi Airports Welcomed 112 Million Passengers in 2023
International flight passengers reached 61 million, marking a 46% increase from 2022.
Saudi Arabia's air traffic experienced a significant surge of 26% in 2023, with approximately 112 million passengers going through various airports across the Kingdom, according to the Air Transport Statistics Bulletin released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). Notably, international flight passengers reached 61 million, marking a 46% increase from 2022, while domestic flight passengers rose by 9% to 51 million. There was a notable increase in both domestic and international flight numbers, with 421,000 domestic flights recorded, reflecting a 2% increase over the previous year, and approximately 394,000 international flights, representing a 36% increase. Additionally, cargo handling at Saudi airports saw a 7% rise, reaching 918,000 tons in 2023, with December recording the highest shipping volume at 93,000 tons.
