Public Prosecution: Sharing Unverified News Can Lead to Legal Action

The Public Prosecution of the UAE has issued a warning against spreading rumors or false and unverified news through social media or any other digital means, as this can create confusion and threaten societal security and stability.

It stressed the importance of relying solely on official and accredited sources, and of not sharing or believing information without verification.

The statement also reminded that anyone who shares or reposts content from unknown sources may face legal consequences under UAE law, even if they are not the original creator.
