New Vehicle Licence Plate Design to Roll Out Across Sharjah

Sharjah Police, through its Vehicle Licensing Department, will begin replacing old vehicle licence plates with a newly approved design across the emirate starting February 16th, 2026. Motorists using the existing plate format have been asked to complete the swap at designated service points.
The replacement will take place at three locations: Tasjeel Village in Sharjah, the Sharjah Classic Cars Club in Sharjah, and Tasjeel Village in Khorfakkan. The process will be managed on site by the Vehicle Licensing Department, with operational procedures handled directly at these centres.
The updated design will apply to vehicles currently carrying the older plate format, with car owners required to obtain the new plates at the specified facilities in Sharjah and Khorfakkan.
