The Minister of Social Solidarity highlighted the importance of observatories in tackling social issues.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity has announced the launch of a media observatory to keep track of the portrayal of women and their issues on television.
This observatory will be the third of its kind under the ministry after the Social Observatory and the Observatory for Combating Addiction. It aims to analyze the representation of women in television dramas and raise awareness about gender-related issues.
The announcement came during a press conference announcing the results of the Media Observatory for Ramadan 2024 dramas, organized by the Fund for Combating Addiction and Treatment, which analyzed scenes depicting smoking and drug use in television series. This announcement underscores the importance of media in shaping public perceptions and addressing pressing social issues.
