Local Voices Wanted: Anime Dubbing Contest Highlights Saudi Dialects

If you've ever mimicked a cartoon character or narrated a scene in your head, this might be your moment. Manga Productions is rolling out a nationwide contest asking Saudis to lend their voices - and their dialects - to animation.

The Saudi Dialects Dubbing Contest is open to anyone across the Kingdom, whether you’re from AlUla, Asir, or the Eastern Province. Participants will dub scenes from ‘Asateer2: Future’s Folktales’, the popular animated series that’s already racked up over 150 million views.

What makes this contest different? It’s all about authenticity. Instead of standard Arabic, contestants are encouraged to use their everyday dialects, bringing a local flavour to characters and offering a new kind of cultural representation on screen.

The winners may be tapped to work on upcoming projects with Manga Productions, one of the region’s leading animation studios. So whether you're an amateur voice actor or just someone with a distinctive accent and a love for cartoons, this is your chance to speak up - literally.

Registration is open now via the Saudi Dubbing website.
