Key Heliopolis Streets to Be Revamped in New Urban Restoration Plan
The project aims to remove unauthorized encroachments—particularly by cafés and restaurants—to enhance pedestrian safety.

Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber has announced a comprehensive development plan targeting several key streets in the Heliopolis district, including Baghdad Street, Ibrahim Al-Laqqani Street, Ibrahim Pasha Street, and the Korba area. The initiative, developed in collaboration with the National Organization for Urban Harmony, aims to restore the area's historic architectural character and enhance urban aesthetics.
The project seeks to eliminate negative aspects such as unauthorized commercial encroachments, particularly from cafés and restaurants, to improve traffic flow and ensure pedestrian safety. This effort is part of the governorate's broader strategy to elevate the quality of life for residents and visitors by preserving the district's heritage and promoting orderly urban development.
