KG Students at ndian & Pakistani Schools Start Year Online in the UAE

Hundreds of kindergarten students across the UAE began the 2026–27 academic year online, as Indian and Pakistani schools in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah opened remotely following a delayed start.
The shift to online learning came after directives issued by the Sharjah Private Education Authority, with similar guidance from regulators in other emirates, including the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge.
At Abu Dhabi Indian School, all classes, including kindergarten, were conducted online, with around 240 young students logging in from home after preparatory mock sessions held over the weekend.
Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Arab Pakistani School also began the academic year remotely, reporting that two kindergarten sections are already operational, with additional students expected to join as admissions continue.
In Ras Al Khaimah, Pakistan Higher Secondary School launched online classes across all grades, including kindergarten, under guidance from the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge. School officials noted that younger students present particular challenges, with screen time reduced in line with regulatory requirements.
Not all schools began simultaneously. Sharjah Indian School opened with Grades 6 to 12, with lower grades and kindergarten scheduled to follow in phases.
Meanwhile, The Emirates National School postponed kindergarten orientation to April 6th, with in-person classes planned for April 8th, subject to further updates. The school said it is limiting screen time for younger students and preparing staff support programmes.
While schools across several emirates have begun the academic year remotely, institutions in Dubai are scheduled to reopen on April 6th, with each emirate continuing to follow its own regulatory timetable.
