Heavy Truck Restrictions Set for Ramadan 2026 in Sharjah

Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, in coordination with Sharjah Police, will restrict heavy vehicle movement across key roads during Ramadan 2026 to ease congestion and enhance road safety. The revised movement windows are aligned with peak commuting hours for employees and students and will take effect from the start of Ramadan, expected around February 18th or 19th, 2026.
Under the updated plan, truck movement will be limited on major Sharjah city roads during morning and afternoon peak periods. Al Dhaid Road, from Intersection 7 to Al Dhaid city, will follow the same schedule.
On Emirates Road, morning restrictions will apply, with an additional afternoon restriction for vehicles travelling from Dubai towards Sharjah up to Intersection 7. Al Hibab–Al Madam Road and Emirates Road in both directions will also see morning movement limits.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road will carry a night-time restriction designed to keep the highway clear for early traffic flows.
Authorities stated that the measures form part of Sharjah’s annual Ramadan traffic management plan, which accounts for altered working hours and increased vehicle movement before iftar.
