The General Egyptian Book Organization opened two new outlets in Luxor Governorate as part of an expansion in Upper Egypt. The outlets were established in cooperation with the Egypt Public Libraries Fund, and are located inside the Egypt Public Library branches in Luxor City and New Thebes.
According to the Ministry of Culture, both outlets offer the authority’s full range of publications, including new titles and series. The collections cover history, philosophy, psychology and Egyptology, in addition to encyclopaedias, sciences, arts and literature. Dedicated children’s titles are also available.
This step is part of a broader plan to expand the General Egyptian Book Organization’s sales outlets across governorates with a particular focus on Upper Egypt, and a wider spread of cultural services beyond the capital and major cities.
