Egyptian Banks Offer Free Banking Services for Two Weeks in December

Banks across Egypt will offer a range of free services from December 1st to 15th as part of their participation in the Central Bank of Egypt’s financial inclusion campaign. Customers will be able to open new accounts without fees or minimum balance requirements during the campaign period. The initiative also covers issuing debit cards and prepaid cards at no cost, as well as providing e-wallets, mobile banking and internet banking subscriptions free of charge. The campaign coincides with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and aims to make financial services more accessible to underserved groups. This two-week activation is one of six annual inclusion periods observed by the banking sector, each themed around a specific social group. Other campaigns throughout the year have focused on women, youth, farmers, savings promotion and the Arab Day of Financial Inclusion.
