Egyptian Actor's Syndicate Forms Committee to Address AI Misuse
The committee will focus on detecting and addressing the use of AI in fake or misleading videos, especially those that damage reputations or commercially exploit an artist’s likeness.

The Egyptian Actor's Syndicate has announced the formation of a specialised committee to monitor the use of AI-generated content involving actors’ images or voices without consent. The move reflects growing concern over the manipulation of digital content to impersonate or exploit public figures.
The committee will focus on detecting and addressing the use of AI in fake or misleading videos, especially those that damage reputations or commercially exploit an artist’s likeness. Dr. Ashraf Zaki, head of the Egyptian Actor's Syndicate, urged any artist affected by such content to contact the syndicate directly, stating that the union would act quickly to defend its members’ rights.
The announcement comes amidst increasing global debate over the use of artificial intelligence in entertainment and the legal frameworks needed to regulate it.
