Mohamed Diab's 'Asad' Premieres in Egypt on May 14th

Acclaimed filmmaker Mohamed Diab’s latest film Asad will premiere in Egyptian cinemas on May 14th and in Arab cinemas on May 21st.

Set in 19th-century Egypt, the historical action drama follows a slave who leads a rebellion against his masters, blending large-scale action with social commentary on power and resistance.

The film stars Mohamed Ramadan alongside Maged El Kedwany, Razane Jammal, and Kamel El Basha. The film is co-written by Diab and his siblings and frequent collaborators, Khaled and Sherine Diab.

Diab, best known for Cairo 678 and Marvel’s Moon Knight, returns here with a larger-scale production, continuing his focus on socially driven storytelling, this time through a period epic centred on identity, rebellion, and survival.
