Council members, drawn from Grades 9 to 12 / Years 10 to 13, represent six different curricula and nine nationalities, collectively speaking on behalf of nearly 400,000 students enrolled in Dubai’s private education system.
The council’s first meeting was attended by Abdullah Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary-General of the Executive Council of Dubai, and Aisha Miran, Director-General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). During the session, members received copies of 'Lessons from Life' by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, underlining the importance of youth leadership and civic engagement.
According to KHDA, the new platform will allow students to exchange ideas, propose initiatives, and help bridge the gap between learners and education policy. It is also expected to foster collaboration among schools, enhance communication between students and decision-makers, and encourage civic participation.
