Cyber Security Council Reports 12,000 Public Wi-Fi Breaches in 2025
This number represents 35% of all cyber attacks in the UAE in 2025. Experts advise using a VPN, the "safe browsing feature", and only logging into sensitive accounts on trusted networks.

The Cyber Security Council reported more than 12,000 breaches of Wi-Fi networks in the UAE since the start of 2025, accounting for roughly 35% of all cyberattacks reported in the country this year. Public, unsecured networks such as those in cafés, shopping malls and airports are being exploited as entry points for intrusion.
The primary threat comes from “man-in-the-middle” attacks, where hackers intercept communications, divert users to fake sites, eavesdrop on calls or install spyware without users knowing.
The Cyber Security Council urges the use of trusted VPNs to encrypt connections, activation of safe-browsing tools, and avoiding logging into sensitive accounts, like your bank or email, on public networks.
