A consultative ministerial meeting bringing together foreign ministers from several Arab and Islamic countries is scheduled to take place in Riyadh on March 18th, 2026 amidst the ongoing US-Israeli war on Iran.
The session, organised by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will convene ministers for consultations aimed at strengthening coordination among participating states and reviewing shared regional concerns.
The evening meeting in the Saudi capital will include foreign ministers from a number of Arab, Islamic and regional countries. Discussions are expected to address recent regional developments and explore mechanisms intended to reinforce stability and cooperation.
According to details surrounding the meeting, participants will also review developments linked to recent escalation in the region and exchange views on the ongoing situation. On February 28th, 2026, the US and Israel launched an attack on Iran, with Iran responding by launching retaliatory strikes across the region.
On March 11th, 2026, the United Nations Security Council adopted United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 condemning the attacks on Gulf states and Jordan, affirming the right of affected states to self-defence under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and calling for an immediate halt to the strikes.
