Al Maktoum Archives Launches to Preserve Legacy of Dubai’s Rulers
The Archives will serve as a repository of records covering the biographies, official correspondence, literary works and historical contributions of Dubai’s rulers and the Al Maktoum family.
Dubai has launched the Al Maktoum Archives, a dedicated institution tasked with preserving the tangible and intangible heritage of the emirate’s ruling family.
The Archives will serve as a comprehensive repository of records covering the biographies, official correspondence, literary works and historical contributions of Dubai’s rulers and the Al Maktoum family. Entities holding relevant documents are now required to register them within 12 months of the law’s implementation.
According to officials, the initiative expands the emirate’s cultural infrastructure by offering greater access to Dubai’s leadership, intellectual heritage and governance narrative through research-driven content, digital archiving and publication channels.
The entity is affiliated with the Executive Office of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and was officially inaugurated in line with Law No. (28) of 2024.
