AI Integration Planned for Egyptian Tax Authority
Egypt’s Tax Authority is integrating AI into tax operations through a newly formed task force, marking the first phase of digital overhaul to enhance data-guided administration and taxpayer services.

The Egyptian Tax Authority is preparing to integrate artificial intelligence technologies into its operations as part of the country’s wider digital transformation strategy. A dedicated task force has been established within the authority to serve as the core unit for embedding AI applications into the tax system.
The integration aims to modernise tax administration, strengthen institutional capacity, and improve taxpayer services through data-driven decision-making. This initiative aligns with directives from the Minister of Finance and supports Egypt Vision 2030’s digital transformation targets.
The announcement followed the authority’s participation in the IEEE Computer Society Artificial Intelligence 2025 Caravan, which ran from April to July 2025 and featured workshops at major universities across Egypt.
These AI efforts arrive amid a notable rise in tax revenues, which increased by 36 percent in 2024 following the implementation of recent tax facilitation measures.
