Techne Summit Brings Egypt Innovation Week to Alexandria and Cairo
The initiative, an expanded edition of Techne Summit, will host events across Cairo, Alexandria, and other cities, bringing people together to discuss innovation and economic growth.

Egypt is preparing to turn its cities into one sprawling testbed for innovation. From September 29th to October 6th, the country will stage Egypt Innovation Week 2025 — an expanded evolution of Techne Summit that stretches far beyond a single event, positioning itself as a regional lightning rod for entrepreneurship, investment, and technology.
In this StartupScene exclusive, Tarek El Kady — founder of Techne Summit and the architect of this expansion — breaks down the vision: “This isn’t just about a single summit anymore. It’s about creating a national platform that brings together startups, investors, corporates, and policymakers in one connected conversation.”
Organisers are promising scale: 60,000 participants from over 70 countries, 1,500 startups, 250 investors, and 300 speakers converging across Cairo, Alexandria, and beyond. The mix is deliberate — entrepreneurs, corporates, policymakers, and educators brought into the same rooms to shape conversations around capital, growth, and the future of industries.
The week kicks off with a press conference at the Embassy of Sweden on September 2nd to announce key partnerships and government support. From September 26th to 28th, Cairo hosts the Annual Investors Congress, an invite-only gathering of more than 150 institutional investors — from VCs and DFIs to family offices and angels — reinforcing Egypt’s role in regional capital flows.
The official opening ceremony takes place on September 29th at Sultan Hussein Kamel Palace, followed by Techne Summit Cairo on September 30th across Sultan Hussein Kamel and Granata Palace. From October 1st to 3rd, more than 20 community-led activations will unfold nationwide, hosted by startups, corporates, and universities.
The program closes at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina from October 4th to 6th, where Techne Summit Alexandria will host 180 exhibitors, 300+ speakers, mentorship sessions, and investor matchmaking. Running in parallel, Capital Connect, led by Alex Angels, will focus on investment readiness and unveil a new secondary market platform to boost liquidity and exits for startups.
