Saudi-Based Humain Leads $900M Series C Round for Luma AI
This funding puts Luma’s valuation at around $4 billion, marking one of the largest recent raises in the video-generation and creative-AI sector.
US-based start-up Luma AI, focused on generative video and visual-content platforms, announced a $900 million Series C funding round, led by Saudi Arabia’s HUMAIN, backed by its sovereign capital base. This funding puts Luma’s valuation at around $4 billion, marking one of the largest recent raises in the video-generation and creative-AI sector.
Existing US investors such as Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Amplify Partners and Matrix Partners also participated, aligning US venture capital with Middle East capital flows in the AI sector.
LumaAI develops advanced “world-models” that extend beyond text-based large-language models. Its models aim to generate, understand and operate on multimodal data—from videos and images to audio and physical-world simulations. The new funding will fuel infrastructure growth, model development and commercial deployment.
HUMAIN is building a multigigawatt AI-supercluster in Saudi Arabia, and Luma AI’s collaboration positions it as both a technology partner and front-runner in deploying models for entertainment, advertising, simulation and creative workflows. The round reflects growing regional interest in frontier AI and signals a shift in global creative-tech funding dynamics.
