Pinnacle Launches Fund for Saudi Growth-Stage Tech Companies
The Saudi investment firm’s new fund will back growth-stage technology companies through primary rounds and secondary transactions.
Saudi Arabia-based investment firm Pinnacle has launched a venture capital fund focused on growth-stage technology companies and secondary investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
Affiliated with the Watar Partners network, Pinnacle plans to invest through both primary funding rounds and secondary transactions. The strategy is intended to give investors exposure to established Saudi growth companies while also increasing liquidity within the Kingdom’s venture ecosystem.
The fund is targeting a gap that has become more visible as Saudi Arabia’s startup market matures. A growing number of companies have moved beyond early-stage development and reached stronger revenue and profitability levels, while access to later-stage capital and exit opportunities remains more limited than in more developed venture markets.
Pinnacle will focus on technology-led companies across several sectors. Fintech is one priority, driven by regulatory development and the continued shift towards digital financial services. The fund will also target businesses connected to Riyadh’s growth, including housing, mobility, real estate and urban services.
E-commerce is another focus area, with Pinnacle identifying further room for growth as online retail penetration in Saudi Arabia remains below levels seen in more developed markets. Health and lifestyle companies are also in scope, particularly businesses addressing preventative care and rising health awareness.
Through the fund, Pinnacle aims to provide additional growth capital to Saudi technology companies while supporting a more active secondary market for investors seeking liquidity before a full company exit.
