Jordan Approves Incentives for $10 Million Satellite Projects
Projects worth over $10 million can qualify for new satellite infrastructure incentives under a framework approved by Jordan’s Cabinet.
Jordan’s Cabinet has approved financial incentives for satellite communications infrastructure projects worth more than $10 million, alongside a National Circular Economy Roadmap setting out resource and recycling priorities through 2050.
To qualify for the satellite incentives, projects must establish at least six gateway earth stations and points of presence across the Kingdom. The government said the framework is intended to attract investment in digital infrastructure and regional data traffic while allowing satellite networks to complement existing terrestrial and submarine cable systems.
The incentives are also intended to strengthen telecommunications resilience without affecting the regulatory rights of existing licensees. The decision was taken during a Cabinet session chaired by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan.
During the same session, the Cabinet adopted the National Circular Economy Roadmap, developed by the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply and the Royal Scientific Society.
The roadmap identifies five priority areas: circular material supply, resource efficiency, circular water management, energy efficiency and waste recovery. Its principles will be applied across sectors including agriculture, mining, food processing, construction and tourism.
Running through 2050 and aligned with the Economic Modernisation Vision, the plan also includes a target to reduce food waste by 50% by 2030.
