Red Sea Launches Program for Filmmakers Aged 10 to 16

The Red Sea International Film Festival has introduced Rising Talents, a new strand giving young filmmakers in Saudi Arabia aged 10 to 16 the opportunity to present their short films during this year’s edition in Jeddah’s Al Balad.

Participants are invited to create short films around four themes: homeland, school, family, and friendship. The initiative is designed to encourage young filmmakers to translate their everyday experiences into cinematic expression, while also offering them the chance to attend screenings, engage with juries, and take part in a formal festival celebration.

A jury of emerging filmmakers will select two winners for cash and honorary awards. Screenings will be attended by the filmmakers and their families, aligning the youth-focused strand with the wider programme of the festival.

The programme will showcase selected works on December 9th, followed by an awards ceremony on December 10th.
